End of the Semester

Sunday I managed to finish grading the last batch of papers for the undergrad history class and Monday I completed both of my final papers...meaning that after work I turned it all in and could consider myself done for the semester! It was a fabulous feeling - of course, I still had to come into work yesterday and today, but my mind is free from historical theory!! Woo hoo! It is crazy to think that in another semester I will have my Masters Degree and seriously be a real adult who has to get a full time job doing something, somewhere in this world...

I am actually kind of looking forward to working - as long as it is a job that I am excited about which these days is looking like some sort of writer/editor/design type position. I know that as soon as I am working I will probably miss school, but going from age 5 (well 3 if you count pre-school) until 23 is kind of a draining mental work-out. I guess it just seems like "real life" (whatever that is) won't start until I have completed my education.

Anyway, tomorrow Brandon and I take off for Grand Rapids, MI to visit his alma mater and friends that still live there. It will be extremely cold (I may return to California a popsicle), however I am looking forward to getting away and actually having nothing to think about while we are there.

After that I have the first three weeks of winter break off of work (well, one week they are closed anyway) and even though I plan to spend a good portion of each week day working on my thesis I think it will be a wonderful break. And it all starts when I leave work this afternoon...I can't wait!
